Have you ever wondered what happens to the all material used on the making of a WildWorks production? We set Amy, a student from University of Exeter, a challenge to explore the WildWorks Theatre archive held at the University’s Penryn Campus. In a series of blogs Amy will show you what she has found during her delve into the archive.
My name is Amy and I’m a Business student at University of Exeter. I was given the opportunity to work with the Archives and Special Collections department in the university library and explore the Wildworks’ Archive. The Collection includes stage and character designs, research materials, scripts, evaluation reports and promotional materials such as programmes, posters and photographs.
My project throughout the placement was to create several blog posts about my experience in the archives that will be featured on this website – you are currently reading the first one! What I hope to achieve is to share with you my experience of exploring the archives as well as deepen both our understandings using the plethora of material that is not normally seen outside the company but is very much accessible to those interested and curious. My following blog posts will consist of interesting material I found, as well as engaging images that I wish to share with you.
I’d like to add that all potential users of the archive are enthusiastically welcomed and encouraged to explore the material, just as I was!
