The production, 100: UnEarth, has been co-commissioned by Heligan and 14-18 NOW the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary and forms part of 14-18 NOW’s 2018 season marking 100 years since the Armistice.
As part of their sponsorship, The Cornwall have chosen to support the company’s Wild & Free ticket scheme which enables people who might not ordinarily attend arts event to attend.
“We were keen to be involved in 100: UnEarth. Geographically we’re very close to Heligan and have strong roots in the area so we’re delighted to be able to be part of making the show happen. We were also keen that our involvement had some benefit to the local community so we were pleased to be able to support the Wild & Free ticket scheme.” Rebecca Coonan, General Manager at The Cornwall Hotel, Spa and Estate
The Cornwall, which was featured in The Sunday Times’ ‘Best Places to Stay’, have also built a holiday package around the event.
“It’s not every day you get an event of this scale on your doorstep so it made complete sense to offer a theatre package to our customers.” Rebecca
The show, which will be at The Lost Gardens of Heligan from 3rd to 22nd July, is a story of war, love, loss and hope. It explores what happens when war is over and is the largest scale production the company have staged.
“We’re so grateful to The Cornwall for their sponsorship. We will be using their support to help our Wild & Free scheme which helps people who might not ordinarily be able to come to see a show. Without support from the private sector it would be incredibly difficult for large scale arts productions, and the opportunities they afford, to exist.” Emma Hogg, Executive Director, WildWorks
Tickets for the show are available via Hall for Cornwall, 01872 262466 or www.hallforcornwall.co.uk.
