Dr. Philippa Casares
Project: The Great Survey of Hastings,
Role: Archeologist and "Surveyor"
I have been a Clinical Psychologist working with severe and enduring mental health problems for 20 plus years now but during my school and university years I wanted to Act and was invovled in many plays performing at the Edinburgh and Bath Festivals. One of my most enjoyable roles was Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice in New College Oxford Cloisters. Turning 50 last year, I finally returned to the stage in Hastings after 30 years and thoroughly enjoyed playing the Mother in the Railway children and then a tennager in Steel Magnolias! Having the opportunity to work with Wildworks theatre as part of their innovative project in Hastings was wonderful and I had the best time playing at Archeology and being ever so still as a ghost like watcher. I felt so welcome by the company who were also flexible and accommodating, which made it possible to be involved. It felt like pure playtime and a great release from the stress of the day job. Thank you.
